Two quarter plate daguerreotypes ca. 1845, fontal and profile views of a man by Vaillat, Paris. Resealed in original paper mounts imprinted "VAILLAT, PALAIS ROYAL, 43".   ( Inventory# gc15 )

Plates are in superb condition with only a few errant mold spiders visible. Resealed with archival tape tinted to match the original blue backing boards. A very rare combination of images, perhaps indicating some personal acquaintance between the photographer and his subject.
