Quarter plate daguerreotype after a romantic painting of woman, anonymous American ca. 1855. Housed in a half brown-leather pushbutton case. Archivally resealed with brown-tinted tape.   ( Inventory# ia493 )

Small area of plate damage at left edge, some thin mat abrasions can also be detected. But overall a fine, rich daguerreotype. An edge of the painting's canvas was visible under mat during resealing process.
