Perry's Column
SOLD March 2004 |
Sixth plate daguerreotype of a rambunctious child attempting to escape from his chair while posed next to an ornate faux-marble column inscribed "PERRY". American, ca. 1855. Housed in a presentable thermoplastic case with some wear and chips.
Unfortunately for this photographer's obvious claim on immortality, a slew of PERRY's are known as daguerreotypists, and no first name is given in the image. Attractive plate, resealed with narrow brass mat to show the full PERRY logo and column.
