Sixth plate daguerreotype of an attentive dog seated on cane-seat chair, anonymous American circa 1850. Housed in a pressed-leather case with butterfly design on the pad.   ( Inventory# ia532 )

This attentive, nervous but obedient dog is clearly being directly by some he respects, located above and to the left. Focus on the dog's head is slightly soft, perhaps due to motion. His ears have perked up and there is a glitter in his eye. He awaits his master's next command.
