Sixth plate ambrotype of a muscular gent with rolled-up sleeve, holding a hammer and chisel. Light applied tinting in red. Housed in a full case with partially separated spine and broken corners on inner side.
The gent's shirt bears similarities to the so-called miner's shirts. Whatever it might have been, he shows great pride in being a match for the demands of his profession.
