Sixth plate cuttings-patent style ruby glass ambrotype of girl and dog ca. 1858, by Elijah R. Perkins, Massachusetts. Housed behind brass mat impressed "E. R. Perkins / Cuttings Patent July 4 & 11, 1854". In a half case.
A crisp and attractive ambrotype. Pink tinting has been applied to the sitters cheeks and lips. Brass mat has some tarnish.
