Sixth plate tintype of a girl in low-cut dress holding a large doll. Housed in a brown period thermoplastic case (Berg 3-96). With applied hand-coloring in red, gilt and green.   ( Inventory# ib396 )

An endearing view of a fancily-dressed girl and her large, equally fancy doll. The doll's dress have been tinted with red overall, the girl has tinted red cheeks and a touch of gilt on her necklace. Some red and probably green coloring have been applied to the carpet beneath her.

Tintype has a light vertical wave which appears to be original to the right of the girl. Double-matted, with the underlying mat stamped "Holmes Booth & Haydens Superfine / Waterbury Conn. No. 26". The case has a few small chips but overall in nice condition, snaps firmly closed.
