Vintage brown toned gelatin-silver print ca. 1908 showing two women at window, signed in pencil lower left by the San Francisco Bay Area Pictorialist Emily Pitchford. Print size 6.75 x 4.5 inches (17x12 cm).   ( Inventory# ib92 )

Published in 'Photograms of the Year 1908' with the title "Suspense", this is perhaps the most illustrated work from Pitchford's brief period of photographic activity. Other examples of her work are extensively illustrated in Pictorialism in California (1994).

In superb condition, the print is loosely mounted at top edge to a period paper mat and board. The mat and board appear to have some age browning.
