Jackson has carefully posed this crouching taxidermed forest creature atop a rough outcropping of studio rocks, in front of a dark and stormy landscape which matches the violence of its expression.

This image is identified as Jackson's work based on a matching negative in the Colorado Historical Society's William Henry Jackson Collection.
