Anonymous American 1840s-era sixth plate horizontal daguerreotype showing a deceased young girl in sky-lit "sleeping dreamer" pose. With faint applied color in blush applied to skin. Housed in a period case with weak hinge and some warp to sides.   ( Inventory# id802a )

A superb plate. The deceased child's hair seems to have a brownish coloration which may be applied color, or original plate coloration.
