Matte-finish gelatin-silver print in overall very good condition, some faint silvering-out, light speckling in highlight areas. Mount has light soiling, some folds / tears at edges.

In 1914, the construction of the Canal du Nord was halted before completion due to the onset of World War I. Work did not resume on the canal until 1959.
