Home on the Range
Original, period cabinet-card photograph of a Western American cowboy or ranch hand with his horse circa 1890. The grim-looking sitter is wearing long protective chaps or leggings, heavy work gloves, and has an unfriendly or "lean and mean" expression. The horse is saddled and carries coil of rope. Price: $175. ( Inventory# id951 )
The card is blank on reverse and does not have a photographer's imprint.
In the background it appears that soil of this region is poor, some vegetation is visible which might be identifiable.
Some spotting to card stock. The photo has moderate wear. There is an area of scratching and wear in front of horse's legs. Overall the cabinet card is attractive and in good condition.
