This exceptional large-format image of Eagle Calf has crisp detail and in generally excellent condition. Deriving from a news archive, it appears to be trimmed slightly on sides and has scattered indentations in surface. There is a tear at top edge left-of-center (repaired) with a few creases / emulsion cracks leading into it, one emulsion crack runs down vertically through headdress towards left.

This famous pose of Eagle Calf is found in smaller format such as postcards but I believe it to be rare in this large size. The image shows very fine detail, unlike what would be expected from an enlargement, and may be contact-printed from a large-format negative.
