Kevin Klein Produces Tintypes for 'Tintypes in Motion'

North Dakota alternative process artist Kevin Klein was recently called upon to produce tintypes for the musical revue named, fittingly enough, "Tintypes in Motion".

Working during a sunny afternoon with cast from the Valley City State University Theatre dressed in turn-of-the-century costume, Kevin produced a series of larger-format tintypes later displayed during the play.

The revue's story centers on women's rights and the sufferage movement in turn of the century America. In addition to the display of Klein's tintypes, video clips shot in the manner of early films were projected between acts.

Kevin Klein Print Prices Set to Rise

Enthusiasts of Kevin Klein's work should take note that the pricing for his gelatin-silver prints, produced from wet-collodion negatives and hand-printed by the artist, are set to rise at the end of this month.

Priced since introduction at a very modest $150, Klein's prints in this format will be selling for $250 after May 1st. So, fair warning -- if you would like to acquire one of Klein's prints at the old prices your purchase should be made before the end of April.

In addition, Kevin has produced a few prints of his much-admired Nest image in a larger 11 x 14 format which will be offered for $450.
