European smaller-than-sixth plate daguerreotype of two women seated outdoors, 1840s. Resealed in original octagonal paper mat.   ( Inventory# gd60 )

There is very crisp detail in this intriguing little image. A few marks which look like scratches appear to be in the image itself, so this may be a copy daguerreotype, although a very fine one.
