Whole plate ambrotype of newly-married couple posing in front of Niagara Falls. Housed in a later gilt frame and paper mat. With later copies of an earlier inscription, "Taken September 19th, 1871 / Married the day before Monday the 18th at half past seven o'clock P.M." and indicating the image was made at 11 o'clock in the morning.   ( Inventory# ia513 )

As an unusual addition, a large projecting rock shelf in the background overhanging the falls has been painted with the graffiti inscription "BOSTON". Perhaps this is an early baseball image?

Bright, clear ambrotype in excellent condition. Plate has been archivally resealed with a second piece of glass behind the image for protection.
