Sixth plate Cuttings-patent style ambrotype of a watchmaker at work, with several watches, a clock, tools, and disassembled watch parts, including a small gear that he holds carefully in one hand. Housed in a full case with split spine   ( Inventory# ic37 )

The photographer's aim was obviously to give us clear view of the mechanical intricacies of watch making, and he does an excellent job.

Image is somewhat high in contrast, and there is a small "bloom" in the emulsion off to the right near mat edge. Otherwise in excellent condition.
