Quarter plate daguerreotype, anonymous American, late 1840s, showing a forceful white-haired main. Housed in a full case with weak spine.   ( Inventory# ic693 )

A strong image of a forceful personality. Assuming the image was taken in the late 1840s and the sitter aged 70, would put his birth in the vicinity of the American revolution. In any case, certainly a man who grew up during the earliest days of his nation's independence.

One minuscule copper-spot like protrusion on right cheek, otherwise excellent condition.
