Sixth plate daguerreotype of an very old woman, posed in darkness with dramatic lighting, perhaps from a window located to right. Housed in a half case.   ( Inventory# ic95 )

The bright light has solarized highlights of the woman's white bonnet to a strong blue. Perhaps an image of an ailing sitter which had to be taken in her home, in her favorite chair. Somehow this image manages to convey very strongly the silence of age.
