Heartwarming 1840s French quarter plate daguerreotype showing a well-dressed young girl and her festively accoutered and bonneted doll. With applied hand-coloring to the dress of girl, doll, and tablecloth. Housed in original period paper mat, resealed with new glass and backing board. Overall dimensions of mount 5.75 x 4.75 inches (15x12 cm).   ( Inventory# id588f2 )

The hairstyle of these two sitters seems to be similar.

Some wispy wipes and tarnish at mat edges. Waterstain on reverse sealing tape in lower right corner.
