Cotton Harvest Japan

CDV-format albumen print showing a group of Japanese in field gathering an unidentified type of flower, circa 1870. With period inscription in French on reverse reading "Recolte de la [???]ate" ["Harvest of ???"].   Price: $90.   ( Inventory# id699e )

CORRECTION: I am told the inscription on card back likely reads harvest of "ouate" -- meaning "cotton-wool" -- and so image likely depicts Japanese cotton-pickers.
