American sixth plate ruby-glass ambrotype with applied tinting in red and blue. Housed in full case with split spine.
Still retaining its original paper seal, this image bears slight speckling on the underside of cover glass, while the image itself is pristine. Sweet, crisp ambrotype with great tonal range and composition. There is blue tinting on the padded chair back behind the sitter. Other than having a split spine, the leather case is a fine example with push-button clasp.
