Vintage albumen print ca. 1860s by Eugène Vaudin, approx. 6.5 x 9 inches (16x23 cm), with Vaudin studio blindstamp lower right. On period mount inscribed in pencil "Quai à Auxerre".
This rich, well-preserved print was oddly trimmed before mounting, it would look fine overmatted to a more rectangular form although the unusual shape is an interesting touch. Vaudin is a relatively little-known photographer listed at two locations in the town of Auxerre (France) during the 1860s.
