Title in the negative "Biskra - La Bonne Aventure dite par le Sable. N.D. Phot."   ( Inventory# ga28a )

Matte-finish gelatin silver print contact-printed from large glass negative in the manner of albumen prints and likely during the period circa 1900 when the albumen process was being abandoned. Stylistically image is reminiscent of late albumen prints and the negative had very likely been intended for producing them.

May have chipping at edges outside the area illustrated. Area illustrated roughly 10 x 7.5 inches (25x19 cm) or the reverse.
