French quarter plate daguerreotype of a mother and two children, in period passe-partout mount. Overall dimensions of frame 5 x 6 inches (12x15 cm).
A charming domestic scene with lightly applied tinting to sitter's faces. The mother's face gives evidence of a repressed grin. Some light wipes and handling marks are present on image, one in area of doll, but they are not glaring under normal viewing.
