European quarter plate ambrotype showing a group of eight outdoors, with subtle hand-coloring in red, green, blue and gilt, ca. 1860.   ( Inventory# ia14 )

A finely hand-tinted image with overpainting on some of the vegetation and additional flourishes added lower right, all of which seem to point towards an English origin. The small velvet-and-brass hanging frame appears to be original. The velvet of frame is worn but it could, if one desired, be replaced.
