Affectionate sixth plate ambrotype of mother and child in check-to-cheek pose, by Samuel Broadbent, Philadelphia. Mat stamped "S. Broadbent," housed in a half case.   ( Inventory# ib349 )

A crisp, unvarnished ambrotype of a very sweet subject. A bit of felt found behind the image appears to be the original backing material. By the era of the ambrotype, Broadbent seems to have been permanently located in Philadelphia.
