Rich French third-plate daguerreotype of two male friends. Housed in the original passe-partout mount with gilt border, front glass replaced. Overall dimensions of mount 7 x 5.75 inches (18x14 cm).   ( Inventory# ib357 )

A very rich and detailed plate in excellent condition. Contrary to the reproductions, whites are not blue (solarized) in the original. Some disturbance like light brushing can be detected in the dark area near left gent's left knee. On an intermediate-size plate between quarter and half-plate size measuring 130 x 96 mm.
