Wild West Gambling Dudes
SOLD April 2010 |
Card-mounted photograph, perhaps a platinum print, showing two Western, pistol-toting dudes engaged in a game of cards circa 1890, perhaps by Chales E. Emery, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Image mounted on card somewhat shorter that standard cabinet-card size, 4.25 x 5.25 inches (11x13 cm). Offered as found with a tissue envelope in standard cabinet-card size and so about 1.5 inches longer than this image, envelope imprinted "Chas. E. Emery / Colorado Springs Colo."
The elaborate mis-en-scene of this image includes not only the two gamblers huddled over their barrel, but saddles, a rifle, and mining equipment.
Very good condition, small stain on arm of rightmost gambler.
