Vintage sepia-toned photograph, disturbing image of two Chinese men with blood streaming from their faces circa 1900. Perhaps related to the Boxer Rebellion. Mounted on portion of period album board, board size approx. 7.5 x 6 inches (19x14 cm). Print size 6 x 4.25 inches (15x11 cm).
There appears to be blood splattered down the front of left subjects face, forming a small puddle at his feet. It is not clear whether these two men have been fighting each other and gouging eyes, or wounded in some other way.
Moderate wear and abrasions to image.
