Japanese in Pittsburgh
SOLD October 2011 |
CDV-format albumen print of showing the young Japanese acrobatic performer "All Right" in Pittsburgh circa 1875. With reverse imprint on card "B. L. H. Dabbs / Photographer / 90 & 92 Federal St. Allegheny City, Pa. / Removed to 46 & 48 St. Claire Street, Pittsburgh." The card also bears penciled inscriptions at top front and back which appear to read "All right" / "Tres bien."
"Little All Right" is supposed to have gained his name from reassurances to the audience that he was "all right" after apparently hazardous stunts.
Overall tones of card good, I would say 7-8 out on a scale of 1-10. Some abrasion of image at top of card.
