Sixth plate daguerreotype of mother and child in cheek-to-cheek pose, anonymous American circa 1852. Housed as found in a leather half-case with attached label and inscriptions dating image to 1852 and giving a family name of "Hammond".   ( Inventory# id410 )

Some abrasions and wipes, mainly around edges.

Color appears to have been applied to sitter's cheeks in red and child's dress in blue.
