Large card-mounted gelatin-silver print showing a Rochester NY fire company, the Protective Sack & Bucket Company in full parade uniforms and hats, circa 1900. Dimensions of board approx 10 x 12 inches (25x30 cm). With a faint photographer's stamp on reverse, repeated in a later ink inscription, reading "Albert R. Stone / Commercial Photographer / 71 Pearl Pl[ace] Rochester, N.Y." Print size 6 x 8.25 inches (15x21 cm).   ( Inventory# id947 )

The Rochester, New York, Hose Company #1 was founded as the Protective Sack and Bucket Company in 1858, also known as the Protectives.
