BOSS Corn Sheller
SOLD March 2018 |
Cabinet-card format photograph showing what appears to be a corn husker or sheller circa 1885, with photographer's imprint front for "Wilkin's Studio, Blanchester, Ohio."
What looks like the word "BOSS" is stenciled on machine near intake bin. A "Boss" manufacturing company has existed in Kewanee, Illinois since the 1890s. However, online images also show antique agricultural equipment with "BOSS" stenciling like that in image, produced by the "Mountainville Mfg. Co," of Mountainville, Pennsylvania.
