Quarter plate European Daguerreotype of a married couple, the gentleman holding his wife's hand, in period paper mat and antique gilt frame, circa 1845. Overall dimensions including frame 7 x 6.5 inches (18x16 cm).
The rich tonality and crisp detail of this plate are a perfect match for the opulence of its sitters.
Narrow tarnish band along right edge of paper mat. Some pinprick abrasions and small spots, otherwise in excellent condition.
