Tailor in Frame

Unusual French albumen or coated salt print circa 1866, housed as found in a quarter plate faux tortoiseshell passe-partout and black wood and plaster frame, and depicting a tailor at work on sewing machine surrounded by his shop or family. Overall dimensions of frame 8.75 x 8 inches (22x20 cm).
The reverse of frame shows modern European resealing paper and an inscription in French, which reads:
"Article du Journal colle au dos Février 1866 / le tailleur et sa famille / acheté à Amboise Printemps 1997"
