Quarter plate daguerreotype circa 1850 showing a lively young woman in décolleté and lace holding a fan, with attractively applied color in flesh tone, rouge highlights, and gilt ornamentation. Housed in a full case with cloth-repaired spine and wear and chipping to the leather.   ( Inventory# ie51 )

The woman's lace and fan give a southern, even Spanish feeling to the image.

Some light signs of brushing can be detected, but are not seen at a normal viewing angle.
