While the mount of this image lacks Marville's blindstamp, it was found with a group of otherwise identically-mounted Marville images of the same subject. Marville is produced a series of studies of the Hotel de Ville in Angouleme for the building's architect, Paul Abadie, as it was constructed in the period 1858-1869.
