Sixth plate daguerreotype of a woman in quaker-style garb with glassed pushed up on her forehead, by Sabine W. Colton, Philadelphia. Housed as found in full case with split spine, pad embossed "Daguerreotype Artist / S.W. Colton / Skylight Gallery / 265 Race St. Below 8th / Phila. Pa."
In life the whites of her costume give an appearance ranging from somewhat solarized, to pure and brilliant white, depending on the angle of illumination.
