Sixth plate English ambrotype of British soldier and wife holding hands, seated in front of another couple. With applied hand-coloring in blue, gold, and faint blush. Housed as found in a period brass-edged framing with imprint on reverse for "W.C. RADFORD / ARTIST" and illegible notations in pencil.   ( Inventory# ib121 )

Both the bemedaled soldier and the young lady seated beside him each hold a small gilt book while also holding hands. Perhaps, as was suggested, this is a wedding image.
