Sixth plate daguerreotype of a gent in dramatic pose holding an open book. With applied color in flesh tone. Housed in a battered case with repaired spine.   ( Inventory# ib509 )

Original newspaper seals, retained behind the image, seem to indicate this is a British image. A dateline in the newspaper reads Tuesday, April 27, which probably indicates the year of either 1847 or 1852.
