Late Consignment - The Chubby Lady

Sixth plate daguerreotype, anonymous American circa 1850s, showing a chubby rustic-looking woman with case. Housed in a full leather case, with applied coloring in pink and gilt.
The case in sitter's hands has been tinted with gilt and pink on its mother-of-pearl? areas and gilt the clasp.
Condition: This consignment image has not been removed from protector and is presented as found. Glass is directly over plate and beneath the brass mat. Although I have not disassembled it, the plate is crisp and appears to be in overall good condition. HOWEVER, it does have some brushing and abrasion, and when illuminated from above there are several vertical brush marks that show as dark lines downwards through the sitter's face. Perhaps because of reflection, these dark vertical lines are not visible in the scans taken of image.
